Claude Code and other MCP clients
Any client that supports remote MCP servers with OAuth works. In Claude Code:
claude mcp add --transport http dtc-planner https://app.dtcplanner.com/mcpWhat you can ask
- What to reorder this week. Products at risk or due for reorder, with each one's next step, buy quantity, buy value and the working behind it, plus the Dashboard counts (need attention, at risk, need a buy). Same figures as the DTC Planner Buying Table.
- Stock and weeks of cover for a product. Stock on hand, on order, weekly sales, weeks of cover, status and next step for a product, overall and at each Shopify location.
- Open and late purchase orders. Purchase orders with supplier, status, expected delivery, days late, receiving location and units still to arrive. Filter by open (default), late, draft or all, and by supplier.
- Supplier scorecard (OTIF). Each supplier's on-time-in-full (OTIF) score, quality, pricing and communication scores, lead time, active and late POs, and 12-month spend, as on the Vendors page.
- Demand forecast for a product. A product's demand forecast by week (next 13 weeks) or month (next 18 months), with baseline, manual overrides and campaign uplift, as on the Demand Planner.
- Suggested stock transfers between locations. Units to move from a Shopify location with spare stock to one below its reorder point, before buying more from a supplier.
- Weekly digest. This week's digest: products at risk, suggested buys and their value, open and overdue POs, units on order, and change since last week's digest.
- Draft a purchase order. Saves a Draft purchase order in DTC Planner for an existing supplier, for a person to review and approve in the app. With no items, it uses the Buying Table's buy quantities for that supplier's products. It never approves or sends the PO, and drafts do not count as on order.
For example:
- “What should I reorder this week?”
- “Which purchase orders are late?”
- “How many weeks of cover do we have on the Cedar Candle?”
- “Which supplier has the worst on-time-in-full score?”
- “Should I move stock between my warehouses before buying more?”
- “Give me this week's digest.”
Your data
- The AI app reads your data. The one thing it can save is a draft purchase order, which waits for you to review and approve it in DTC Planner. It cannot approve or send a PO, and it cannot change or delete anything else in DTC Planner or Shopify.
- It answers from your active workspace, as you, with the same access you have in the app. If you belong to several workspaces, switch workspace in DTC Planner to ask about another one.
- It uses the same figures as the Buying Table, Purchase Orders, Vendors and Demand Planner pages. Answers include no shopper details (DTC Planner stores none) and no supplier contact details.
- What DTC Planner sends is the answer to each question you ask. Claude or ChatGPT then handle it under your account with Anthropic or OpenAI. See our Privacy Policy.
- To disconnect, remove DTC Planner from the connectors or plugins list in Claude or ChatGPT.
- Each person can make up to 30 requests a minute and 1,000 a day.
